The mission of the FRC Library is to ensure that the students and staff are effective users of information and ideas.
The Library is the information centre of the school. The library is open from 8:00am-4:00pm every day for reading, researching, studying and doing school work. The library staff are available to help you locate and use print and online information resources. Research guides, pathfinders, and information about works cited are available at the research center.
A scanner and photocopy machine are available for student use.
Staff
Ms J. Macdonald, teacher-librarian

Borrowing
Students need their Student Cards to borrow materials. Use the OPAC WebSearch on the computer desktop to find the resources (books, videos, DVD, Vertical File material) you need. The loan period is two weeks. Renew if you need the items longer. Students with overdue/lost books may not borrow again until their books are returned or paid for. Overdue lists are posted outside the library regularly. Videos and DVDs may not be borrowed by students but are available to view during the day in one of the library conference rooms.
The library program is integrated with the instructional program in the school. Students are taught information literacy skills- the skills needed to find, evaluate and use information. Teachers and the teacher-librarian collaborate to design research activities for students using both print and non-print sources of information. Classes are booked into the library on a flexible schedule.
The library promotes literacy and reading, and students have a large collection of good books magazines and newspapers to choose from.
